How to use panels in the channel description

Instead of a regular description box, we have prepared a new panel system for you to personalize your channel and give it your own touch. You can set these up in your channel settings.

Go to your channel settings and click on Description.

Now you can edit your panel to your personal liking. You can add new buttons, change columns, upload images, hide panels and customize them:

You can use up to 4 columns to displayed in the desktop view. Please remember that mobile viewers can only display 1 or 2 columns depending on their display width.

Edit options #

Your panel always needs a title, an image or a description.

The title for each panel must have a maximum length of 21 characters. The panel image is optional and has a variable resolution. You can use either PNG with transparency, or JPG/JPEG without transparency. The maximum file size for your panel images is 2.5Mb!

In the next input field you can put in your description, which can contain up to 10,000 characters. You can also use markdown in your description box. Our markdown can be found here: picarto.tv/site/markdown

It‘s also possible to select buttons to add even more your character to your panel. You can add one button per panel and also customize the button text. For that you can use up to 21 characters. The button can link to a URL or to your email address.

Trusted links #

For the buttons we prepared trusted links which will show the logo of the linked service. Currently, we support the following services:

  • PayPal
  • Commiss.io
  • Patreon
  • Ko-Fi

Last but not least, you can hide your panels for later. This could turn out to be useful have a weekly stream that requires a special panel for explaination. This can be hidden in all other streams, but you can display it for your special stream again. This way you don’t have to create a new panel every time.

Opportunity for use #

With these panels, you can create many informative blocks like:

  • Your Socials
  • Donations (Patreon etc.)
  • Streaming Schedule
  • General Info
  • Commission Details
  • Frequently Answered Questions etc.

This way you are able to customize your channel description to fit your needs.
